1) Bushfire Ministry

Bushfire Ministry serves as the umbrella body for Handprints Society’s outreach in Pokot. Founded with a vision to transform remote and marginalized communities, it embodies love, hope, compassion, and transformation tailored to the needs of West Pokot. Through this arm, we coordinate projects addressing education, spiritual growth, healthcare, and community development — facilitating sustainable change and expanding our reach.

Under Bushfire Ministry, we operate two primary initiatives:

i) Bushfire New Vision School – Pokot

In Karia village, West Pokot, where children once had no access to education, God enabled us to establish Bushfire New Vision Academy. What began with a few children learning under a tree has grown into a school serving 65 children — providing quality education, a feeding program, supplies, and spiritual nurture. Daily porridge and meals encourage attendance and protect children from early marriage, illiteracy, and hopelessness. We are committed to building classrooms, hiring teachers, and empowering children to break the cycle of poverty.

ii) West Pokot Outreach Center

In Karia village, West Pokot, we responded to God’s call to love those deemed unreachable. In a land where early marriages and lack of healthcare are prevalent, we planted seeds of transformation. We dream of building a full school and dispensary to serve this community holistically.

2) Widows Christmas Food Basket

The Widows Christmas Food Basket was birthed from a divine burden placed on our hearts to ensure that no widow or orphan goes without a meal during Christmas, a season meant to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In many of the communities we serve, Christmas is not a time of joy but a painful reminder of loss, loneliness, and lack. Widows often sit in silence, watching others celebrate while they struggle with hunger and grief. God called us to stand in that gap.

3) Free Medical Camps & Jigger Campaigns

Many of the communities we serve live in remote and underserved areas where access to healthcare is either extremely limited or completely nonexistent. Families often rely on traditional herbs, endure preventable illnesses, or live with chronic pain simply because they cannot afford medical care. Seeing this deep need, God called us to be His hands of healing bringing both physical treatment and spiritual hope.

4) Child Education sponsorship Project – “Educating Today, Transforming tomorrow”

Education lies at the heart of transformation, and our Education Project was born from the belief that every child carries God-given potential, regardless of their background. Poverty, orphanhood, and vulnerability should never determine a child’s destiny. Yet for many children, the lack of school fees, uniforms, books, or even daily meals becomes a barrier too heavy to overcome. We step into that gap as vessels of hope and so far by the grace of God we have more than 40 students in primary, secondary, university and some have graduated.

5) House Building for Widows and Vulnerable Families

The House Building Project was born from the painful reality that many widows and vulnerable families live in unsafe, collapsing shelters exposed to harsh weather, insecurity, and shame. After losing their husbands, many widows are displaced, abandoned, or left with nothing. God placed a burden on our hearts to restore dignity by providing safe and permanent homes. For the last 5 years we have built houses for more than 100 families who were in dire need.

6) Famine Relief Program

During seasons of drought or financial hardship, we provide food supplies to families facing hunger. This ministry offers nourishment and encouragement, reminding families that God sees and cares for them.

7) Chosen generation kids Program

Through this program, we intentionally create a safe and loving space where children can encounter God, discover their identity in Christ, and grow in hope. Through Bible stories, prayer, mentorship, and age-appropriate activities, we teach children that they are children of the King created with purpose, value, and a future. We walk with them through their formative years, offering encouragement, moral guidance, and spiritual grounding. As they learn God’s Word, we have witnessed fear replaced with confidence, hopelessness turned into joy, and withdrawn children blossom into bold, compassionate individuals.

8) Dorcas Empowerment Project

Inspired by Dorcas in the book of Acts a woman known for her compassion, generosity, and service the Dorcas Women’s Empowerment Project exists to restore dignity, purpose, and hope to widows and vulnerable women. Many widows are left economically and socially vulnerable after the loss of their husbands. This project responds to that pain by equipping women with practical skills and opportunities to become self-reliant. Through skills training, seed capital, mentorship, and ongoing support, women are empowered to start small income-generating activities such as tailoring, farming, beadwork, and small retail businesses.
